Product Description Lorica Segmentata - Roman steel plates articulated armor, held jointly together by leather straps. It was first used at the end of the 1st Century BC, and continued to be in use with the Roman army until the middle of the 3rd Century AD. It is probably best known from the spiral reliefs on Trajan's Column in Rome. The term was itself coined only in the 16th century. The first recognizable fragments were excavated at Bad Deutch- Altenburg in Austria.
